Today I am going to discuss about the process through which you can update your aadhar card address online in just 2 minutes and also enclosed the list of document which are required to do so. Here is How to Update Aadhaar Card Address Online

  • First of all visit the official site of UIDAI here (https://uidai.gov.in)
  • Now move to Aadhaar Update under it click on Address Update Request (Online) or you can directly click on this link is as well – https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/ssup-home#/
  • Now you will redirect to Aadhaar Self Service Portal now scroll down to bottom and finally click on “Proceed” button.

There are 4 Steps to Update Aadhar Card Address Which are as follows:

In 1st step you have log in with your aadhar details

  • Enter 12 digit Aadhaar Number
  • Enter Text Verification Code
  • Click on Send OTP
  • You will receive it on your registered mobile number enter

2nd Step Date Update Request

  • After login you have to choose the field in which you want to make correction earlier there were 5 option but nowadays there are only 1 option which your address as show in below image.

  • After this you will redirect to Enter Date for Update
  • Now enter your aadhaar card address correctly or enter your new aadhaar card address and click on Submit Update Request

3rd Step Documents Upload

  • In the third step you have to upload the supportive documents for the correction in aadhaar card address the complete list of documents is shared below so just scroll down for the list of documents.
  • After uploading and submitting documents an pop up window will appear similar to below given image simply click on YES button and move to last step

4th & final Step BPO Service Provider Selection

  • In the final step you just have to choose any of the BPO service provider as per your choice and finally hit the “Submit” botton

  • After submitting your details you will redirect to new page where you will see confirmation messages that “Update Request Completed” and also receive Update Request Number (URN) No. note down this number as you will able to track your updated aadhaar status online with this number either your aadhar updated or not.

Here is How to Update Aadhaar Card Address Offline

You can update aadhaar card address offline via 2 method

  • Visit nearest enrolment center
  • Send your details to UIDAI via Post

Well both the method are trustable but you can opt out any of these as per your choice and convenience.

List of Documents Required for Aadhaar Update / Correction in Address

  • Proof of Identity (PoI) – The document must contain your name and photo. You can submit any of the following documents as identity proof:
    • Passport.
    • Ration Card or PDS Photo Card.
    • PAN Card.
    • Driving License.
    • Voter ID.
    • NREGS Job Card.
    • Government Photo ID Cards or PSU Issued Service Photo Identity Card.
    • Arms License.
    • Photo ID Issued by a Recognized Educational Institution.
    • Photo Credit Card.
    • Photo Bank ATM Card.
    • Kissan Photo Passbook.
    • Pensioner Photo Card.
    • Freedom Fighter Photo Card.
    • ECHS/ CGHS Photo Card.
    • Certificate of Identity that has photo issued by Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar on a letterhead.
    • Address Card that has name and photo issued by the Department of Posts.
    • Disability ID Card or handicapped medical certificate that is issued by the respective State or Union Territory Government or Administrators.
    • Marriage Certificate.
    • Gazette Notification.
    • Proof of Marriage document that has been issued by the Registrar.

Proof of Address (PoA) – The document must contain your name and address. You can submit any of the following documents as address proof:

    • Bank Statement or Passbook.
    • Ration Card.
    • Passport.
    • Post Office Statement or Passbook.
    • Voter ID.
    • Government Photo ID Cards or PSU Issued Service Photo Identity Card.
    • Driving License.
    • Water Bill (It should not be more than 3 months old).
    • Electricity Bill (It should not be more than 3 months old).
    • Property Tax Receipt (It should not be more than 1 year old).
    • Landline Telephone Bill (It should not be more than 3 months old).
    • Credit Card Statement (It should not be more than 3 months old).
    • Signed Letter that has Photo from the Bank on a letterhead.
    • Insurance Policy.
    • Signed Letter that has Photo and is issued by a Recognized Educational Institution on a letterhead.
    • Signed Letter that has Photo and is issued by a registered Company on a letterhead.
    • Arms License.
    • NREGS Job Card.
    • Pensioner Card.
    • Kissan Passbook.
    • Freedom Fighter Card.
    • Income Tax Assessment Order.
    • ECHS/ CGHS Card.
    • Certificate of Address that issued by the head of Village Panchayat or an equivalent authority (for rural areas).
    • Certificate of Address that has photo and is issued by a MLA or MP or Tehsildar or Gazetted Officer on a letterhead.
    • Vehicle Registration Certificate.
    • Registered Lease/ Sale/ Rent Agreement.
    • Caste and Domicile Certificate that has photo and is issued by the State Government.
    • Address Card that has photo and is issued by the Department of Posts.
    • Gas Connection Bill (It should not be more than 3 months old).
    • Disability ID Card or handicapped medical certificate that is issued by the respective State or Union Territory Government or Administrators.
    • Passport of Parents (in case of minors).
    • Passport of Spouse.
